Give this episode its own preview.
You’ve recorded a conversation worth sharing. A trailer brings a few of its moments together so someone can get a feel for the episode before committing to the whole thing.
A trailer introduces the conversation.Bring the guest, the subject and a few of the exchanges into one preview.
A clip shares one complete thought.Use a standalone answer, story or explanation for a separate post. Clypt suggests both from the same episode.
A show trailer introduces the podcast. If you’re launching a show, you may need a fresh recording about who it’s for and what to expect. This tool starts with an episode you’ve already filmed.
An editing example
Plan a 60-second trailer around one decision.
For an interview about a difficult business decision, try the outline below in your usual editor. These are example positions in a finished trailer, not timestamps from the demo or a preset Clypt applies.
- 00:00 to 00:08
Open on the decision
Choose the guest naming a decision they made. If the line begins with ‘that’, keep enough of the previous sentence to explain what they mean.
- 00:08 to 00:18
Give the decision context
Use the host’s short question or the guest’s explanation to establish the company, situation or problem.
- 00:18 to 00:38
Show what made it difficult
Pick a concrete obstacle or a competing option from the conversation. Keep qualifications attached to the claims they qualify.
- 00:38 to 00:53
Include part of the answer
Let the guest explain what changed. Give the viewer something useful, while leaving the full reasoning in the episode.
- 00:53 to 01:00
Point to the full episode
Identify the guest and episode in your closing card or accompanying post, with one clear place to watch.
Watch the cut without the episode beside it. If you need to explain who “they” are, or why the guest changed their mind, put that context back. Moving excerpts must not change what the guest meant.
For another approach, Spotify’s interviews with podcast creators describe using episode trailers alongside individual clips. Choose the length that gives your conversation enough room.

Before you make your trailer
What is an episode trailer?
An episode trailer brings several moments from one conversation into a short preview. It gives viewers a sense of the guest, the subject and why they might watch the full episode. A show trailer introduces the podcast as a whole; an episode trailer promotes a particular recording.
How does the podcast trailer maker work?
Paste a public YouTube episode link with English captions. Clypt suggests moments for a trailer and individual clips. Review the selection, adjust the cuts and caption style, then render the trailer with the Clypt Helper on your computer.
Can I make a podcast trailer for free?
You can try one episode free with no card required. Preview the suggested selection without signing up. To render and download your trailer, create an account and install the free Clypt Helper for Mac or Windows.
How long should a podcast episode trailer be?
Start with the few moments needed to introduce the conversation and make someone want to hear more. The 60-second outline on this page is an editing example, not a platform limit or a guaranteed output length. Cut repetition before cutting the context that makes a quote accurate.
Can I use an audio file or write a trailer from scratch?
This trial uses an existing YouTube video with English captions. It does not accept a direct audio upload or turn a written script into a new recording. For a show-launch introduction, record your host introducing the show and edit that recording in your usual editor.
Do I get individual clips as well?
Yes. Clypt suggests a trailer and standalone clips from the episode. Use the trailer to preview the conversation and individual clips to share one answer or story. Review each selection before downloading and posting the MP4 files.
