The All-In hosts dive deep into transformative technology trends from Davos, covering everything from the inevitable arrival of robotaxis and job displacement to Elon Musk's ambitious vision for space-based data centers. The episode delivers hard-earned insights on navigating financial crises like SVB's collapse while debunking AI infrastructure myths and exploring the regulatory landscape shaping cryptocurrency's future.

Key takeaways

  • Self-driving technology will transform transportation within six years, but regulatory fragmentation will create winners and losers as cities either embrace or resist robotaxi deployment.
  • Space-based data centers could revolutionize computing infrastructure by leveraging superior cooling and solar efficiency compared to Earth-based facilities.
  • Banking relationships mean nothing during crisis moments—diversifying deposits across institutions can literally save your company overnight.
  • AI data center criticism appears driven by coordinated misinformation campaigns, as water cooling systems use closed-loop processes that don't damage water supplies.
  • Regulated stablecoins like USDC are positioning to dominate as compliance becomes the key differentiator in cryptocurrency adoption.

When agriculture got automated, it went from most of the workforce to 3% over thirty years. People would look at what you and I do for a living - having a conversation in Davos - and be like 'that's not a real job. Real job is manual labor in the fields.' But we think of it as a job.

And when agriculture got automated, you know, now it's like 3% or something of the workforce work. Yeah. That would happened over thirty years. Yeah. Yeah. And so I think they would look at what you and I do for a living. Like, we're just having a cool conversation in Davos talking. They'd be like, that's not a real job. Like, real job is like manual labor in the fields. Right. You just you're on vacation all the time, but we we think of it as a job. And, you know, people who are like typing on a keyboard, but you get to sit in an air conditioned office or whatever. It's stressful. That's for sure. It can be stressful, but that's just I'd rather be doing that than be doing back breaking labor in the in the sun digging a dish or something. Right? So I think that job displacement is like not a bad thing, actually, actually, if it means that people can do new kinds of work and new kinds of job. Now, is there gonna be a transition period? Yes.

And so the key issue now is your business model.
