Who we are
Clypt (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a podcast clip discovery and repurposing platform operated at useclypt.com. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website, tools, and services.
Information we collect
Account information: When you create a Clypt Studio account, we collect your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth).
Podcast content: When you upload or link audio/video files for analysis, we process the media to generate transcripts, identify clips, and create social copy. We store transcripts, clip metadata, and generated content in our database.
Social media profiles: If you connect social accounts (e.g. LinkedIn) for posting or tone analysis, we store OAuth access tokens (encrypted at rest) and basic profile information (name, account ID). We may also access recent public posts for tone-of-voice analysis when you explicitly request it.
Usage data: We collect standard web analytics and server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited.
Email addresses: Collected when you use our free tools (Try Clypt, Scorecard) or subscribe to communications.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve our services (transcription, clip analysis, social copy generation)
- Publish social media posts on your behalf when you explicitly authorise it
- Analyse your writing style from public social posts you provide, to match generated copy to your tone of voice
- Send transactional emails (analysis complete notifications, account verification)
- Respond to support requests
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate Clypt:
- Supabase — database and authentication
- Vercel — hosting and deployment
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI-powered analysis and content generation
- Deepgram — audio/video transcription
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- LinkedIn API — social media posting on your behalf (when connected)
- Apify — public social media post scraping for tone analysis (when you request it)
- Vercel Blob — temporary file storage for uploads
Each service processes data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data:
- OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM
- Database access is controlled via Row Level Security policies
- All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit
- Passwords are hashed and managed by Supabase Auth
Data retention
Account data and generated content are retained for as long as your account is active. Uploaded media files are processed and may be stored temporarily; exported clips are retained until you delete them. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
When you delete an episode that was added from a public source (an RSS feed or a YouTube URL), we may retain the transcript and the original automated clip selections (start and end times, hooks, categories) in an internal corpus used to evaluate and improve our analysis models. Retained data does not include any edits you made, exported clip files, or social copy. Episodes you uploaded yourself are deleted in full, including the source file.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Disconnect linked social media accounts at any time
- Withdraw consent for social media posting
To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@useclypt.com.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on our website. Continued use of Clypt after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
